Our October monthly Membership Meeting and print competition will feature a presentation from Frank Nichols as he shares his passion for photography and examples of his landscape images.

Frank began his photography career in 1986 by
purchasing a used Canon 35 mm system. His focus for many years was
travel, nature and landscape photography.
In
2002. Frank began the process of reinventing himself as a portrait
photographer using all his skills from the world of nature and studying
master portrait photographers’ work and techniques. Today he creates
award winning photographs, teaches photography and leads photo tours and
photography workshops. Frank is certified by the Professional
Photographers of America (PPA) as an Approved Business Instructor
(PPA-ABI) and is a member of the Professional Photographers of America
and its regional affiliates, Professional Photographers of Washington
(PPW) and Professional Photographers of Oregon (PPO). He enters his work
in independent international print competitions, as well as
international and regional PPA and local PPW and PPO print competitions.
He is always striving to improve his skills by staying current with the
latest in photographic styles and techniques.
Frank’s passion for nature has allowed him to create award-winning and highly
acclaimed photography. He has one of the largest collections of bear
(brown and black) art/prints in the country and is considered by many to
be a master at photographing bears. He leads photo tours and workshops for those interested in honing their
photography skills or just having an adventure that is out of the
ordinary. Frank also teaches photography through the Pacific School of Photographic Arts, www.pspa-online.com.
Frank lives in Woodland, WA with his wife, Valerie, and has six children and three grandchildren.
